I think half of the people miss the essence of hip-hop.
They think hip-hop music and culture has strict borders and a monotype sound. But the truth is it is always and always inspired by the past and the contemporary sounds.

From the beginning till today producers sampled from many genres of music. Some writers were listening to pink floyd, led zeppelin etc. but at the same time Afrika Bambaata was mixing the same tracks at the nightclubs of Manhattan.
